For the second consecutive year, between Holy Wednesday and Easter Sunday we have celebrated a Young Easter together. In it have participated boys and girls of several pastoral positions of the Claretian Province of Santiago, schools and parishes. A total of 114 people, participants, youth pastoral agents (AAPJ) and Claretians shared those intense days in a shelter in Carrión de los Condes (Palencia).
We took into account the evaluation of the first encounter to improve and to keep what worked best. Wednesday night we started with a celebration of reconciliation, which helped to personalize those days. In the mornings there were well-prepared moments of formation, quite interactive, and in the afternoons we had the celebrations of the Paschal Triduum. And at night we had other celebratory moments (Holy Hour and solitude of Mary). They were significant the moments in which, daily and in small groups, we put in common the echoes of what we were experiencing. And like the last year, we got up early on Sunday so that the vast majority of those present could get to celebrate the Eucharist with their parish community.
The Easter Youth Gathering 2017 leaves us this echo: gratefulness for the lived and encouragement to bring the light of Christ around the world. The challenge, in the form of a question, was expressed by the motto of Easter: “He offers us, He offers himself … do you offer yourself?”
